McCavity asked us to bring warm weather from the US. At first we did not think we could comply but Nancy repacked, now we will be bringing a warm breeze.
By: MRS. SpaceMann,
Now I'm just killing time until the final packing and house shutting tasks around 12:30 or so. The taxi is supposed to show up at 1:45 to take us to the airport. The flight leaves about 4:30 for Newark, then leaves there at 8pm for Edingurgh to arrive at 7:45 tomorrow morning. Hovering around 90 degrees here all week, hovering around 65 there.
I think my head is going to explode.
I got up at 4 this morning in an attempt to shift my day forward to try to avoid some jet lag. Might be trouble though because I'm really tired right now and I don't sleep much on planes.
Space Mann is bringing his mac-n-top on the trip. The strange keyboard makes us feel handicapped.
We have made contact with a friend of Space's in Inverness who used to live here in the Albany area. He's a Hash Hound Harrier club member who is married to an American doctor. He's a dentist I think. They went back to Scotland a few years ago but he keeps in touch with the hashing club, and participates in hashing over there too. Space tried to get in touch with him a while ago when we first found out we were going to Scotland, but got no response. Space finally realized he was sending to the wrong address so a couple of weeks ago he sent to the correct address and the guy responded right away. He gave us all kinds of recommendations for things to do and see, and invited us to stay at their house while in Inverness. That just ramped up our excitement level considerably as you can imagine. The guy said it's been a "poor" summer over there for weather; lots of rain and cold. He asked us to bring warm weather with us. I think the weather difference is going to be a shock to our systems although Space is suffering here in this heat.
